Philips entered a 10‑year agreement with Hoag Hospital System to standardize patient monitoring across its two acute‑care hospitals, including the expanded Sun Family Campus in Irvine, which will add 155 inpatient beds by mid‑2026.

The deal deploys Philips’ Enterprise Monitoring as a Service (EMaaS) model, installing IntelliVue MX750 bedside monitors and X3 transport monitors throughout the network. The solution creates a unified, patient‑centered monitoring environment that supports clinical efficiency, data continuity, and patient safety.

Philips’ Patient Information Center (PIC iX) will serve as the central platform, integrating monitoring data, clinical decision‑support tools, early warning scores, and advanced analytics. The partnership gives Hoag continuous access to Philips’ innovations on a predictable financial basis.

The agreement aligns with Philips’ connected‑care strategy, which focuses on delivering seamless, data‑driven solutions across the patient journey. Philips’ 2024 annual report reported revenue of EUR 18.0 billion, with the connected‑care segment representing a growing portion of the business.

Hoag’s expansion of the Sun Family Campus, scheduled for completion in 2026, will rely on the modernized monitoring system to support the new inpatient capacity and enhance patient safety.

The EMaaS model represents a shift from a product‑centric to a service‑centric approach, offering a consumption‑based model that standardizes technology and provides clinical and technical services. This long‑term partnership provides shared accountability and risk, and supports scalable, sustainable solutions for healthcare providers.
