PPG announced the election of Leon J. Topalian, Chair, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Nucor Corporation, to its board of directors, effective July 16, 2025. Topalian will serve on the Audit Committee and the Sustainability and Innovation Committee of PPG’s board.
Topalian brings nearly 30 years of experience in manufacturing and operations with Nucor, North America's largest and most diversified steel and steel products producer. His background includes serving as president and chief executive officer of Nucor since 2020 and as chair of the board since 2022.
PPG's lead independent director, Michael W. Lamach, stated that the board continually seeks to strengthen its expertise and capabilities to support PPG's growth strategy. Topalian's proven leadership and industry experience are expected to further strengthen PPG and guide its strategic direction, particularly given Nucor serves similar end-use markets as PPG.
