PPG announced that its board of directors ranked in the top ten among the boards of more than 650 American corporations, according to the ninth annual 'The Weight of America’s Boards' study by JamesDruryPartners. This marks the PPG board’s eighth appearance on the top ten list since the study began in 2011.
The study evaluates boards based on their collective business accomplishments, leadership roles served with companies, and the relative value of their experience. PPG's board was recognized for its exceptional governance, which helps strengthen the company, guide its strategic direction, and deliver increased shareholder value.
The report offers an objective view of the governance capacity of large U.S. public companies, based on the premise that the quality of board directors’ collective business acumen is a primary measurable factor indicating a board’s capacity to govern effectively.
