PPG announced that its in-house tools for cradle-to-gate product carbon footprint (PCF) measurement and life cycle assessment (LCA) have been validated to internationally recognized ISO standards by WAP Sustainability Consulting. Additionally, PPG’s environmental product declaration (EPD) process has been certified by the International EPD system.
These certifications mean that PPG's methodologies for quantifying the total greenhouse gas emissions and overall environmental impacts across a product's life cycle are independently verified. This provides customers with trusted sustainability product information for their reporting, procurement decisions, or to qualify for green building certifications.
The verification process has significantly shortened the delivery time of EPDs, PCFs, and LCAs, making these tools globally available to PPG employees to better serve customers. This capability plays an important role in PPG's goal to be the first-choice partner for paints, coatings, and specialty products, aligning with increasing customer demand for transparent sustainability data.
