Parsons Corporation has been awarded a $322 million contract to complete the final design of the Advanced Rapid Transit (ART) program for the VIA Rapid Silver Line in San Antonio. The 7.3‑mile corridor will feature 18 new or modified stations and will use dedicated bus lanes, transit‑prioritized signals and off‑board fare collection to deliver faster, more reliable service across the city.
The award expands Parsons’ Critical Infrastructure segment, which posted an 18% year‑over‑year revenue increase in the third quarter of 2025 and a 14% rise in the second quarter. The new contract adds to a $8.8 billion backlog that is 72% funded, the highest level since the company’s IPO, and reinforces the firm’s momentum in the U.S. transit market.
Parsons has worked with VIA Metropolitan Transit Authority for more than 25 years, and the Silver Line is the next phase of the agency’s ART program that also includes the Green Line, which will connect the airport to downtown. The two lines will intersect in downtown San Antonio, creating a central transit hub that is expected to spur economic development and improve access to jobs, schools and cultural destinations.
Sean Tenney, vice president and Texas regional manager, said the partnership “continues to be a cornerstone of our business in the region and demonstrates the value of our long‑standing relationship with VIA.” He added that the ART program “provides a modern public transportation solution that will better connect the San Antonio region and drive economic growth as the population expands.”
The contract win is part of a broader pattern of new transportation and defense contracts that Parsons secured in late December 2025, reinforcing investor confidence in the company’s expanding project pipeline and its leadership in large‑scale transit and national‑security projects.
