Papanii Okai, who served as Venmo's Chief Technology Officer and a former PayPal technology executive, was named Executive Vice President of Product Engineering at Rocket Companies, effective October 7, 2024.
During his tenure at Venmo, Okai led the technology and engineering teams responsible for building and scaling products used by Venmo's 90 million users. He also held the role of Chief Technology Officer for Branded Checkout at PayPal.
His departure represents a change in leadership for a critical product within PayPal's portfolio. Okai's move to Rocket Companies is aimed at helping them create AI-driven products.
