QIAGEN announced the launch of its new QIAseq xHYB Long Read Panels on July 22, 2025. This suite of target enrichment solutions is designed to unlock long-read sequencing of genomically complex regions, strengthening QIAGEN’s position as a provider of differentiated solutions for next-generation sequencing (NGS) platforms.
These new panels are optimized for use with native long-read platforms, including those from PacBio, enabling researchers to capture a broader spectrum of genomic variation. Applications include HLA typing, repeat expansion analysis, and the detection of structural variants, areas where short-read sequencing has faced challenges.
Built on QIAGEN’s hybrid-capture chemistry, the QIAseq xHYB Long Read Panels offer high on-target specificity, uniform coverage, and compatibility with various long-read sequencing platforms. This expansion allows researchers to choose between short- and long-read sequencing, or combine them, based on their specific research objectives in areas like immune profiling, complex disease genetics, and cancer biology.
