Qorvo announced a partnership with Cambridge GaN Devices (CGD) to introduce new evaluation kits (EVKs) for motor control solutions. This collaboration combines Qorvo’s high-performance BLDC/PMSM motor controller/driver with CGD’s ICeGaN ICs in the PAC5556A + ICeGaN EVK.
The joint solution aims to revolutionize motor control applications by enabling the development of compact, energy-efficient systems with high power density. The PAC5556AEVK2, featuring 240 mΩ ICeGaN, achieves up to 400W peak performance without a heatsink, while the PAC5556AEVK3 with 55 mΩ ICeGaN reaches 800W peak with minimal airflow cooling.
These EVKs offer efficiency gains that result in reduced power loss, increased power availability, and minimized heat dissipation, making them suitable for industrial and home automation applications such as white goods, ceiling fans, and pumps. The PAC5556A + CGD GaN EVKs are now available for order on Qorvo’s website.
