Qorvo announced that MediaTek selected the company as a key supplier for the initial wave of Wi-Fi 7 front-end modules (FEMs). These FEMs will be integrated into MediaTek's MT6653 Wi-Fi 7/Bluetooth combo chip, which is part of the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 platform.
The collaboration aims to deliver enhanced Wi-Fi 7 performance, power efficiency, and technical features in mobile devices. Qorvo's Wi-Fi 7 FEMs offer flexibility in power management and efficiency, supporting various architectures and spanning the entire Wi-Fi 7 spectrum for applications including smartphones and consumer premises equipment.
Qorvo's solutions also include Wi-Fi iFEMs with integrated BAW filtering, designed to optimize performance and reduce board space. Volume shipments of these Wi-Fi 7 FEMs supporting the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 platform are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2024.
