Quantum Computing Inc. (QCi) announced on August 5, 2025, that it has been awarded a contract by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), part of the U.S. Department of Commerce. This contract is for the design and fabrication of thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) photonic integrated circuits (PICs). This marks QCi's first direct government contract for its TFLN foundry services, representing a key step in its plan to become a trusted U.S.-based supplier of advanced photonic technologies. The contract period runs from June 16, 2025, through April 15, 2026, leveraging QCi's prototyping capabilities for mission-critical photonic components. Additionally, QCi received a chip order from a Fortune 500 science and technology company that provides advanced solutions across defense, intelligence, civil, and commercial markets.
