Quantum Computing Inc. (QCi) announced on November 20, 2024, that it has received its second purchase order for its thin film lithium niobate (TFLN) photonic chip foundry. The order comes from the University of Texas at Austin and will support the research efforts of the University's RF Acoustic Microsystem Group.
This order is part of the QCi Foundry's pilot launch program, with fulfillment expected in Q1 2025. QCi will leverage its standard TFLN processing recipes for a custom fabrication run, enabling the University to advance chip-scale acoustic and cross-domain microsystems.
Dr. William McGann, CEO of QCi, stated that this collaboration underscores the expanding capabilities and commercial viability of the QCi Foundry, designed to meet increasing demand for signal processing, sensing, and computing applications. The QCi Foundry in Tempe, Arizona, remains on track to begin production in Q1 2025.
