Redwire Corporation announced a new eight‑figure contract to supply two International Docking System Standard (IDSS)‑compliant docking systems for The Exploration Company’s Nyx spacecraft. The deal, valued at a minimum of $10 million, expands Redwire’s footprint in the European commercial space sector and provides a new revenue stream that aligns with the company’s strategy to diversify beyond its traditional U.S. government‑centric business.

The docking systems are built on Redwire’s International Berthing and Docking Mechanism (IBDM) platform, a technology that supports both berthing and autonomous docking operations. The IBDM platform’s IDSS compliance validates Redwire’s design for future missions, including a role in the Lunar Gateway’s International Habitat. The Nyx spacecraft, a modular, reusable, and in‑orbit refuelable vehicle, will use the docking systems to perform autonomous rendezvous and docking, a key capability for cargo transport and re‑entry missions.

Redwire’s financial performance in the third quarter of 2025 showed a 50.7% year‑over‑year revenue increase to $103.4 million, driven by higher demand for its space‑flight hardware and services. Adjusted gross margin improved to 27.1% from 24.5% in the prior year, reflecting a more favorable mix of high‑margin commercial contracts and disciplined cost management. Despite the revenue growth, the company reported a net loss and negative EBITDA, underscoring the ongoing investment required to scale its technology portfolio. The new contract adds incremental revenue that will help offset operating costs and support future growth initiatives.

Management emphasized the strategic importance of the deal. Marc Dielissen, General Manager of Redwire Belgium, said, “This agreement marks a significant step in supporting Europe’s fast‑growing commercial space sector. We are thrilled to contribute to one of the most exciting space programs in Europe.” Najwa Naimy, Chief Program Officer at The Exploration Company, added, “Partnering with Redwire on the Nyx docking system strengthens our mission to build the most affordable and sustainable vehicle for space cargo transit.”

The contract positions Redwire to benefit from upcoming European commercial space initiatives, including potential support for the Lunar Gateway and other multinational orbital infrastructure projects. By securing a high‑profile European contract, Redwire demonstrates its ability to win significant business outside the U.S. market, reinforcing its long‑term strategy of diversification and technological leadership in the space industry.
