Richardson Electronics, Ltd. announced two multi-million dollar production contracts with two of North America's largest owners and operators of wind farms. These agreements are for Richardson's patented ultracapacitor pitch energy modules (PEMs) and other related products, with shipments expected during calendar year 2025.

The contracts specifically involve the patented ULTRA3000® units, which serve as a direct replacement for lead-acid batteries in electric pitch systems within wind turbines. These modules store and manage the energy required to adjust blade angles, ensuring efficient turbine operation.

The improved lifespan of the patented ULTRA3000® is expected to reduce maintenance requirements and significantly decrease the environmental impact associated with traditional lead-acid batteries. These partnerships reinforce Richardson Electronics' commitment to delivering innovative solutions and solidify its global position as an industry leader in this technology.
