Rambus Inc. announced the availability of complete client chipsets for next-generation AI PC memory modules, marking its expansion into the client market. This offering includes two new Power Management ICs (PMICs): the PMIC5200 for LPDDR5 CAMM2 (LPCAMM2) memory modules and the PMIC5120 for DDR5 CSODIMMs and CUDIMMs. These new PMICs, alongside the Client Clock Driver (CKD) and Serial Presence Detect Hub (SPD Hub), comprise a complete chipset solution. This enables memory modules for AI PC notebooks, desktops, and workstations, extending Rambus's leadership in memory interface chipsets to all JEDEC standard DDR5 and LPDDR5 memory modules for both servers and clients. The expansion into the client market with these high-performance chipsets is expected to address new memory subsystem requirements driven by AI-enabled client systems. This market segment, initially targeting high-end applications, is projected to grow to approximately $100 million in a few years, offering a new avenue for revenue growth for Rambus.
