PowerPlan, a subsidiary of Roper Technologies, introduced its next‑generation SaaS platform, Provision NXT, on December 17 2025. The new solution automates income‑tax provision for utility and energy companies, replacing manual reconciliations with a cloud‑native workflow.

Provision NXT extends PowerPlan’s existing Tax Fixed Assets (TFA) offering by automatically ingesting deferred‑tax and depreciation data into provision calculations. The integration eliminates the need for manual exports and imports, streamlining close‑cycle processes and improving data accuracy for tax departments that currently devote significant effort to reconciliation.

The launch aligns with Roper Technologies’ broader strategy to grow recurring revenue through software‑enabled products in its Application Software segment. By offering a fully SaaS experience, PowerPlan positions itself to capture a larger share of the tax‑provision market, which is shifting toward cloud‑based solutions. The company’s upcoming PowerPlan NXT platform, scheduled for a full release in 2026, will further integrate tax and accounting modules into a modular, cloud‑based ecosystem.

Management highlighted the operational benefits of Provision NXT, noting that the platform frees tax professionals from repetitive tasks and allows them to focus on strategic analysis. The move is expected to strengthen PowerPlan’s recurring revenue stream and support Roper’s goal of expanding its Technology‑Enabled Products portfolio, which has historically delivered higher margins and cash flow.

CEO Raphael Shure emphasized that Provision NXT delivers proven capabilities in a modern, data‑centric environment, reinforcing PowerPlan’s commitment to innovation. The company will continue to invest in the NXT platform, aiming to broaden its customer base across the utility and energy sectors and to accelerate adoption of cloud‑native tax solutions.
