Volaris and SabreMosaic have entered a multi‑year agreement that places Volaris’s airline content on SabreMosaic’s Travel Marketplace, giving the ultra‑low‑cost carrier access to the global distribution system for the first time. The partnership adds more than 220 routes operated by Volaris across Mexico, the United States, Central America and South America to SabreMosaic’s inventory of over 150 low‑cost carriers.
Volaris reported a net profit of $6 million for the third quarter of 2025, a sharp turnaround from a $63 million net loss in the second quarter. In the fourth quarter of 2024 the airline earned a $46 million net profit, a 58.9 % decline from the same period in 2023. Total operating revenues for Q3 2025 were $784 million, down 4 % year‑over‑year. Management projects 6‑8 % growth in available seat miles for 2026 and an EBITDA margin of 32‑33 % for 2025.
Sabre’s financial results for the second quarter of 2025 show revenue of $687.15 million, a 1.1 % decline year‑over‑year, and a loss per share of $0.02. The company continues to face a negative net margin and high debt levels, reflected in a negative Altman Z‑Score that signals potential financial distress.
Strategically, the deal expands Volaris’s reach into corporate and leisure travel markets by leveraging SabreMosaic’s AI‑enabled platform, which consolidates content from traditional airlines, NDC carriers, lodging and car/rail providers into a single interface. For Sabre, adding Volaris strengthens its position as a leading source of low‑cost carrier inventory and supports its broader goal of consolidating fragmented travel content.
Operationally, Volaris has been impacted by engine inspections that have grounded aircraft, a challenge that is expected to persist through 2025‑2027. Despite these headwinds, the airline has maintained disciplined growth and cost control, positioning it to benefit from the expanded distribution network.
The partnership is expected to create new revenue opportunities for both Sabre and Volaris by enabling travel agencies to compare and book low‑cost options in a single interface, thereby increasing booking volume and revenue potential for the involved parties.
