Sigma Lithium Corporation announced on October 6, 2025, its inclusion as a case study in the 'Climate and Nature Solutions in Brazil' report by Instituto Itausa and Instituto Arapyau. The company was recognized as a 'global reference in green lithium' for its 'Quintuple Zero' formula, which emphasizes production without dams, chemicals, carbon emissions, fossil energy, and potable water consumption.
The company is upgrading its mining operations to increase efficiency and competitiveness, as mining operations account for over 66% of Sigma Lithium's 'plant gate costs.' This upgrade, initiated in Q3 2025, is expected to reduce fluctuations in ore delivery, increase industrial Greentech plant production, and decrease overall plant gate costs by approximately 20%.
As part of the upgrade, Sigma Lithium is replacing its mining equipment with modernized, larger trucks to reduce the overall fleet size and enhance mine safety. This initiative will also prepare the mine to feed a second Greentech plant more rapidly by improving mine geometry, supporting the planned capacity expansion scheduled for 2026. The industrial Greentech plant has maintained an excellent safety record, with over two years (735 days) without Lost Time Injury and zero fatalities.
