Sidus Space announced that its third LizzieSat satellite, LS‑3, has completed bus‑level commissioning in orbit. The satellite, launched on March 14, 2025, now has all core subsystems—power, communications, and attitude control—fully operational and has integrated the company’s autonomous guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) software, enabling on‑orbit maneuvering without ground intervention. The platform also hosts an Automatic Identification System (AIS) payload that is already transmitting maritime vessel data in near real‑time, processed on‑board by the Orlaith AI platform. Pointing accuracy is reported at less than 30 arcseconds, or about 0.008 degrees, a key metric for high‑resolution data collection.

In the third quarter of 2025, Sidus reported revenue of $1.3 million, a 31% decline year‑over‑year, and a net loss of $6.03 million. For the full year 2024, revenue was $4.7 million, down 22% from 2023, with a net loss of $17.5 million. Gross profit margin for 2024 was –31%, a sharp reversal from the 28% margin reported in 2023. These figures reflect the company’s strategic shift from component manufacturing to higher‑margin data‑service contracts, which has increased depreciation expenses and compressed margins while the company invests in new satellite assets.

CEO Carol Craig said the LS‑3 milestone demonstrates Sidus’s ability to deliver autonomous, low‑latency data streams and validates the company’s modular, 3D‑printed satellite architecture. Chief Business Officer Lawrence Hollister highlighted the reliability of the platform for both defense and commercial customers, noting that the successful commissioning positions Sidus to secure new data‑service contracts and scale its constellation.

Investors responded positively to the announcement, with the market reaction driven by the operational success of LS‑3 and the company’s progress toward a recurring revenue model. The announcement followed a mixed reaction to the Q3 2025 earnings report, which highlighted declining revenue and widening losses.

Sidus has additional satellites in production, with launches expected in late 2026. The company’s cash balance of $15.7 million as of December 31, 2024, provides a runway to continue scaling the constellation and monetizing the Orlaith AI platform, supporting the company’s transition to a vertically integrated space‑as‑a‑service platform.
