Aquatech announced on September 16, 2025, that it has acquired Koch Technology Solutions' (KTS) direct lithium extraction (DLE) business. This acquisition integrates the Li-Pro Lithium Selective Sorption (LSS) technology and its extensive IP portfolio into Aquatech's PEARL technology platform.
Koch Technology Solutions was a key technology partner for Standard Lithium's SWA Lithium joint venture, having signed a license agreement for the Li-Pro LSS technology for the South West Arkansas Phase 1 Project. KTS also provided performance guarantees for its commercial deployment.
This acquisition means that Aquatech now holds the responsibility for the Li-Pro LSS technology and associated performance guarantees. This change in ownership of a critical technology provider is a material development for Standard Lithium's operational framework.
