Snowflake announced that it has integrated Google Cloud’s Gemini 3 generative‑AI model into its Cortex AI platform, allowing customers to invoke Gemini 3 directly within Snowflake SQL queries without moving data out of the platform. The move keeps data under Snowflake’s security and governance controls while giving users access to the most advanced generative‑AI model available from Google.

The integration is a key component of Snowflake’s AI‑Data Cloud strategy, which seeks to bring AI directly to enterprise data. By partnering with Google Cloud, and aligning with other AI leaders such as NVIDIA and Anthropic, Snowflake deepens its network effects and positions itself to capture a larger share of the growing enterprise‑AI market.

The announcement follows Snowflake’s Q3 2026 earnings, in which the company reported product revenue of $1.16 billion and total revenue of $1.21 billion, both beating analyst estimates. Earnings per share were $0.35 versus the consensus estimate of $0.31, a beat of $0.04 or 12.9%. The results were driven by strong demand for AI workloads and disciplined cost management.

Non‑GAAP operating margin expanded to 11% from 9% year‑over‑year, while product gross margin reached 76%, reflecting pricing power and a shift toward higher‑margin AI services. Remaining performance obligations grew 37% year‑over‑year, indicating a robust pipeline of long‑term contracts.

Management highlighted that the Gemini 3 integration will let customers leverage advanced reasoning, multimodality, and coding capabilities directly on governed data, reducing data‑movement costs and accelerating AI adoption across the enterprise.

Snowflake also noted a $100 million AI revenue run rate and 125% net revenue retention, underscoring the growing importance of AI in its business mix. However, guidance for Q4 signals a modest slowdown in product revenue growth, suggesting caution amid macro headwinds.

Christian Kleinerman, EVP of Product, said the partnership empowers customers to innovate faster, while Google’s Michael Gerstenhaber emphasized secure, governed AI. Customer CTO Jeremy Ung noted that embedding Gemini models into Snowflake’s platform speeds up complex financial processes.

The integration marks a significant operational milestone for Snowflake, reinforcing its position as a central hub for enterprise data and AI, and is expected to drive future revenue growth as AI adoption accelerates.
