Synovus Appoints Anne Fortner as New Chief Credit Officer

Synovus announced on November 12, 2024, the appointment of Anne Fortner as Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer, effective March 31, 2025. Fortner, currently Senior Vice President and Deputy Chief Credit Officer, will succeed Bob Derrick, who is set to retire after more than 20 years with Synovus. In her new role, Fortner will be responsible for establishing and advancing credit organization initiatives and objectives in support of the enterprise strategy. She will oversee the asset quality of the balance sheet and direct the monitoring and measuring of credit risk. Fortner has nearly two decades of experience at Synovus, including leading efforts to enhance proactive and preventative credit risk management programs. Her appointment ensures continuity and strategic leadership in a key area of the bank's operations.
