SunPower announced the successful closing of its strategic acquisition of Sunder Energy, a leading residential solar sales company. This acquisition is expected to immediately boost SunPower's revenue to pre-Investment Tax Credit (ITC) levels and set a new record, positioning the combined entity as the U.S. residential solar industry's No. 5 company in installed megawatts.
The acquisition brings Sunder's 893-person 1099 sales force, managed by 20 W-2 employees, into SunPower. This effectively doubles SunPower's salesforce from 841 to 1,734 representatives and integrates Sunder's state-of-the-art sales software and methods across the combined organization.
SunPower CEO T.J. Rodgers stated that the acquisition is transformational and is expected to generate an operating income profit record for the company in Q4 2025. The integration process is being managed by a 10-person leadership team overseeing 10 integration tracks, with 60 deliverables already defined within the first week.
