SS Innovations International, Inc. announced on March 27, 2025, the successful completion of India’s first North-to-South robotic cardiac telesurgery. This landmark procedure utilized the SSi Mantra 3 Surgical Robotic System, bridging a 2,000-kilometer distance between SS Innovations' headquarters in Gurugram, New Delhi, and Aster CMI Hospital in Bengaluru. The telesurgery involved closing a complex Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) on a 35-year-old patient, lasting 2 hours and 40 minutes, and was performed with imperceptible latency. Dr. Sudhir Srivastava led the procedure remotely from Gurugram, supported by a team in Bengaluru. This achievement builds upon previous telesurgery successes of 40 km and 286 km, demonstrating the SSi Mantra 3's capability to deliver advanced surgical care across vast distances with real-time precision. The procedure further validates the company's CDSCO approval for telesurgery, making specialized care more accessible and affordable.
