Stantec has been selected by the City of Toronto to provide Owner’s Engineer/Technical Advisory Services for the F.G. Gardiner Expressway Rehabilitation Project Section 4. The contract is valued at C$24 million. Stantec will deliver multidisciplinary engineering consulting services across planning, preliminary design, procurement, design-build, and post-construction phases.

Section 4 of the rehabilitation project involves replacing 2.2 kilometers of elevated roadway, including 91 bridge spans and 5 on- and off-ramps, in the heart of Toronto. This critical corridor handles 140,000 vehicles daily. The rehabilitation strategy will encompass structural modifications, deck replacement, structural steel girder repairs or replacement, and substructure rehabilitation.

This award builds on Stantec's longstanding relationship with the City of Toronto, having worked on the Gardiner Expressway Rehabilitation Plan since 2019. The company has also contributed to other major transportation projects in the Greater Toronto Area, including the Toronto Subway Program and the Ontario Line.
