SolarBank Corporation announced on October 10, 2024, its plans to develop a 3.7 MW DC ground-mount solar power project, named the Congress project, in Seneca County, New York. This project is a new addition to the company's development pipeline, which currently exceeds one gigawatt.

The Congress project has a secured site lease and an interconnection study underway, with expectations to power over 430 homes upon completion. The project is anticipated to qualify for incentives under the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) NY-Sun Program.

SolarBank's focus on community solar aims to provide clean and affordable energy to thousands of homes. The company will continue to work on completing the permitting process and securing the necessary financing for the project's construction, assuming a successful interconnection study.
