SolarBank Corporation announced on March 11, 2025, an update on the development of its 5.4 MW DC ground-mount solar power project, known as the Boyle Rd project, in upstate New York. The project has achieved a significant development milestone by receiving positive interconnection results via a completed Coordinated Electric System Interconnection Review (CESIR).
With this positive interconnection determination, the company will now proceed with permitting the project site. The Boyle Rd project is expected to be eligible for incentives under the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) NY-Sun Program and is projected to power 630 homes.
Following the receipt of necessary permits and financing, SolarBank intends to commence construction of the project. Solar Simplified, a partner, handles all customer-facing activities for the company's community solar projects, ensuring full project subscription and maximized revenue from day one.
