Silvercorp Metals Inc. announced its comprehensive construction budget and schedule for the El Domo Project, targeting first production by the end of 2026. The estimated capital cost for the project is $240.5 million, which is comparable to the $247.6 million estimate from the 2021 Feasibility Study.
The construction plan is divided into several packages, with Package #1 (site preparation, roads, channels, TSF) already awarded to CRCC 14 Bureau Group Co. Ltd. in January 2025, with earthworks ongoing. Stripping of the open pit is expected to commence in August 2025, preparing 550,000 cubic meters of ore for three years of production.
Construction of the main processing plant is scheduled to begin in September 2025, with major equipment installation by May 2026 and completion by November 2026. Commissioning of the process plant is anticipated in December 2026. Additionally, power line construction is expected to start in May 2025 and be completed within 13-17 months, with standby diesel generators operational before the plant's completion.
