Solowin Holdings announced on August 19, 2025, the acquisition of a 19% equity stake in GPL Remittance Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based cross-border payment institution. GPL holds a Major Payment Institution (MPI) license issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and possesses over 30 years of global operational expertise. This transaction is a strategic enhancement to Solowin’s digital payment infrastructure.

Peter Lok, CEO of Solowin, stated that this investment will strengthen the company's licensed payment channels in the region. The MPI license is Singapore’s most comprehensive payment license, covering traditional and innovative payment services while aligning with MAS’ regulatory standards.

This acquisition serves as a compliance baseline for Solowin to conduct payment services in Singapore and globally, enhancing its market competitiveness and expanding its business boundaries. It is considered a stepping stone to enter international markets and a fundamental safeguard supporting large-scale growth and collaboration with global partners for Solowin's cross-border payment and digital financial ecosystem.
