Synchrony and Sun Country Airlines announced the launch of a new credit card program on September 23, 2025, focused on rewarding leisure travelers for both flights and everyday purchases. The new Sun Country Visa Signature® credit card allows cardmembers to earn up to 5X Sun Country rewards points for every $1 spent on Sun Country purchases, with 3x points for card use and an additional 2x points when they fly. Cardmembers also earn 2X points on gas station and grocery store purchases, and 1X points on all other purchases.
New cardmembers can earn 25,000 points after spending $1,000 in the first 90 days of account opening. Additional benefits include 50% off their first checked bag and Best/Standard seat selections for themselves and travel companions. A 10,000-point anniversary bonus is offered for spending $10,000 on the card in a 12-month period, along with a free premium in-flight drink and a 25% discount on other in-flight food and beverages.
Bart Schaller, EVP & CEO, Digital, Synchrony, stated that the new program underscores Synchrony's commitment to delivering exceptional value and enhances its role across various industries, including travel. Sun Country is also introducing 'Plus Status' to its rewards program, offering additional points, no change or cancellation fees with Flexible Fares, and upgraded day-of-travel experiences. Existing Sun Country cardmembers have been converted to the new Synchrony-issued card.
