Sypris Electronics, LLC, a subsidiary of Sypris Solutions, Inc., has received a follow-on award from a leading U.S. defense contractor. This award is for the manufacture and testing of embedded circuit card assemblies that will support cryptographic functions for the U.S. Army’s Key Management System (AKMS).

The AKMS is a core component of the National Security Agency’s Electronic Key Management System, providing tactical units with organic key generation and secure electronic key distribution. Sypris's components will be integrated into a ruggedized, handheld Simple Key Loader (SKL) device, serving as the cryptographic engine for future electronic key loading and field key management systems.

Production for this program is scheduled to begin in 2026, and this follow-on award extends Sypris's backlog on the program through 2026. This continuity in production supports the U.S. Government’s Cryptographic Modernization Initiative and reinforces Sypris's role as a reliable partner in secure communications.
