Sysco Corporation and NextEra Energy Resources, LLC celebrated the groundbreaking of the Rumble Solar Energy Center in Grady County, Oklahoma. This project represents a potential $334 million investment in the local community. Once operational by the end of 2026, the Rumble Solar Energy Center will generate 250-megawatts of renewable energy. This output is equivalent to 75% of Sysco's national power usage, including 100% of Sysco Oklahoma's total electric load. The project is expected to create approximately 300 construction jobs at its peak and generate an estimated $32 million in additional tax revenue over 30 years for Grady County. This initiative is a key element in Sysco's climate goal to lower Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 27.5% by 2030 and source 100% renewable electricity globally by 2030.
