Teledyne FLIR OEM announced the launch of the Tura thermal camera, the first ASIL‑B certified thermal imaging system for automotive safety, enabling use in night‑vision, ADAS, and autonomous vehicle applications.

The Tura camera delivers high‑resolution long‑wave infrared imaging that can detect pedestrians, animals, and obstacles in low‑light conditions, and its ASIL‑B certification under ISO 26262 demonstrates the system’s reliability and safety‑critical performance, a milestone that positions Teledyne as a key supplier for OEMs and Tier‑1 partners.

The announcement comes amid a rapidly expanding automotive safety market, where demand for certified thermal sensors is expected to rise as autonomous driving technologies mature. Teledyne’s strategy to broaden its digital imaging portfolio into automotive safety is reinforced by the partnership with Valeo, a leading automotive supplier, and by the company’s track record of producing more than one million automotive thermal camera modules over the past two decades.

Teledyne Technologies’ recent financial results underscore the company’s solid footing to support this expansion. In Q3 2025, net sales rose 6.7% YoY to $1.54 billion, while net income reached $220.7 million. The Digital Imaging segment grew 2.2% and the A&D Electronics segment grew 37.6%, reflecting strong demand for high‑performance imaging solutions across the company’s portfolio.

Paul Clayton, President and GM of Teledyne FLIR OEM, emphasized the importance of safety and reliability, stating, “Safety and reliability are non‑negotiable pillars of autonomous technology, and Tura sets a new industry benchmark with compatible FuSa features starting from the sensor.” He added that the company will continue to deliver high‑volume, cost‑effective solutions for automotive safety.

The launch at CES highlights Teledyne’s commitment to leading the next generation of automotive safety technology, positioning the company to capture a growing share of the market as autonomous driving capabilities become mainstream.
