Thryv Holdings, Inc. released results from its second annual AI and Small Business survey on July 17, 2025, indicating a dramatic increase in AI adoption among small businesses. Current AI usage jumped from 39% in 2024 to 55% in 2025, representing a 41% surge. The survey, conducted in May 2025 with 540 small business decision-makers, found that 80% of current AI users believe it is essential for reaching new customers, and 78% consider it necessary to meet rising consumer expectations for speed and personalization. AI adoption was particularly strong among companies with 10 to 100 employees, increasing from 47% to 68% year-over-year. Grant Freeman, President of Thryv, noted that small businesses are rapidly implementing AI to save time, reduce costs, and compete more effectively. The survey also revealed that 67% of users agree AI reduces pressure on staff, and 46% believe it makes them less reliant on employees, highlighting AI's role in operational efficiency and navigating economic uncertainty.
