Taylor Morrison Home Corporation announced that Darrell Sherman, EVP, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary, will retire from the company effective May 31, 2025. Mr. Sherman has served in the role for nearly 16 years, providing legal oversight and guidance across corporate governance, finance, land acquisition, risk management, and M&A. His retirement is due to a call to serve as a mission president for his church.
Todd Merrill, currently VP and General Counsel of Operations at Taylor Morrison, will succeed Mr. Sherman as EVP, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary, effective June 1, 2025. Mr. Merrill has been a member of the legal team since August 2004, bringing over 20 years of experience within the company and prior experience as a real estate partner at Bush Ross, P.A.
Chairman and CEO Sheryl Palmer expressed confidence in Mr. Merrill's readiness for the new position, highlighting his long tenure and pivotal role in the legal team. The internal succession plan ensures continuity in leadership for the company's legal and corporate governance functions.
