Trex Company expanded its distribution footprint in the Upper Midwest by partnering with Weekes Forest Products, adding Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and North Dakota to its service area through Weekes’ St. Paul and Moorhead, MN distribution centers.
In the second quarter of 2025, Trex reported net sales of $387.8 million, a 3.0% year‑over‑year increase, while first‑quarter net sales were $340 million, down 9.0% from $374 million in Q1 2024. Gross margin for Q2 2025 was 40.8%, compared with 44.7% in Q2 2024, reflecting higher branding investments. The company’s product mix remains dominated by composite decking and residential railing.
The partnership strengthens channel support and enhances product accessibility in a region where wood decking still dominates 76% of the market. Trex holds an estimated 50‑60% share of the composite decking market and 14% of the overall decking market, positioning it to capture additional market share through improved distribution.
Trex’s CEO noted that the expansion will support growth and meet rising demand, while Weekes’ CEO highlighted the improved distribution efficiency that will benefit both companies. Trex continues to invest in sustainability, with products made from 95% recycled content and initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The move follows a similar commitment by Snavely Forest Products, a subsidiary of MacArthur Company, to sell Trex railing exclusively in October 2024, underscoring Trex’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in key growth regions.
