European Union member countries have approved the imposition of definitive anti-dumping duties on imports of titanium dioxide (TiO2) from China. This decision, made on November 27, 2024, is expected to address concerns regarding unfairly priced Chinese imports that have impacted the profitability of EU producers.
The duties are scheduled to be implemented by January 11, 2025, and will remain in effect for five years. Specific duties include 0.25 euro per kilogram for Anhui Gold Star Group and 0.74 euro for LB Group, with other cooperating companies facing rates of 0.64 euro and all other companies 0.74 euro.
These definitive duties will replace the provisional duties that ranged from 14.4% to 39.7%. The measure is anticipated to create a more level playing field for European TiO2 producers, including Tronox, by mitigating the pressure from low-cost Chinese imports.
