Trupanion has added Bradley Powell, former Chief Financial Officer of Expeditors International, to its Board of Directors. Powell served as CFO at Expeditors from October 2008 to September 2025 and previously led Eden Bioscience through its 2000 IPO, bringing more than 27 years of CFO experience to the company.

Trupanion’s CEO Margi Tooth welcomed the appointment, noting Powell’s deep financial discipline and strategic growth expertise. Powell expressed enthusiasm for contributing to Trupanion’s scaling and long‑term value creation, citing the company’s rapid enrollment growth and expanding product portfolio.

Trupanion’s recent financial performance underscores the timing of the appointment. Q4 2024 revenue rose 14% year‑over‑year, and net income increased to $1.7 million from a $2.2 million loss in the prior year’s fourth quarter. In Q2 2025, total revenue grew 12% year‑over‑year to $353.6 million, and the company reported a net income of $9.4 million, a turnaround from a $5.9 million loss in Q2 2024.

In the competitive pet‑insurance market, Trupanion is the second‑largest provider in North America behind Nationwide. The company’s direct payment system to veterinarians and its expansion into pet food and wearable technology position it for continued growth. Powell’s experience in large‑scale financial operations is expected to support Trupanion’s strategic initiatives and capital allocation.
