Telesat announced on January 13, 2025, key executive leadership changes, with Michel Forest succeeding David Wendling as Chief Technology Officer following Mr. Wendling's retirement at the end of February 2025. Mr. Forest will oversee satellite operations, engineering, launch activities, and program management.
Michel Forest previously served as Telesat’s Vice President of LEO System Engineering, where he led the end-to-end architecture and system performance of the Lightspeed constellation. His expertise is expected to support global customer base and Lightspeed program execution.
Additionally, Asit Tandon is joining Telesat as Chief Network and Information Officer, responsible for the terrestrial elements of the Lightspeed network. This includes Network Operations systems, the Network Operations Center, facilities, program management, customer fulfillment, and network and corporate IT systems.
These appointments are crucial for building and integrating best-in-class technical operations systems and worldwide facilities, which are essential elements of the Lightspeed network.
