Textron Aviation completed the delivery of its first Cessna SkyCourier freighter to Altair, a subsidiary of FlexCoah, in Mexico on December 22, 2025. The aircraft, a twin‑engine high‑wing turboprop, is the first operational SkyCourier in the Mexican market and marks a significant expansion of Textron’s air‑freight footprint in Latin America.

The SkyCourier can carry up to three LD3 shipping containers and 6,000 pounds of payload, making it an ideal platform for regional cargo operators that need a cost‑effective alternative to larger freighters. Its short‑haul design aligns with the growing e‑commerce and parcel‑delivery demand in Mexico, where freight volumes are rising faster than the capacity of existing regional fleets.

Textron’s Latin American strategy has long focused on Mexico as a key growth market. The delivery comes after the company reported a Q4 2024 revenue of $1.3 billion for Textron Aviation, down from $1.5 billion in Q4 2023, largely due to a labor strike that disrupted production. Despite the dip, Textron Inc. posted a Q4 2024 revenue of $3.61 billion and an adjusted EPS of $1.34, and the aviation division’s backlog reached $7.8 billion at the end of 2024. The new freighter adds a revenue stream that supports the company’s goal of expanding its commercial aircraft portfolio while maintaining a strong backlog.

Senior vice president of Sales & Marketing Lannie O’Bannion said the SkyCourier’s “reliability, payload capacity and mission flexibility make it a powerful asset for operators looking to scale their operations while maintaining cost‑efficiency.” FlexCoah’s general manager Chava de las Fuentes highlighted that the aircraft will enable faster delivery times, access to new markets, and greater flexibility for clients, reinforcing the strategic fit for Mexico’s growing logistics ecosystem.

The SkyCourier competes with other regional freighters such as the Cessna Caravan and the Beechcraft 1900, but its higher payload and modern avionics give it a competitive edge in the CEP (courier, express, parcel) market. By entering Mexico with a proven platform, Textron positions itself to capture a share of the expanding regional freight market and to leverage its existing support network in the region. The delivery signals Textron’s continued focus on diversification and its ability to deliver new products to key markets even after recent operational disruptions.
