Textron Systems Corporation, a Textron Inc. company, announced on October 3, 2024, that its Team RIPSAW, including Howe & Howe and Teledyne FLIR Defense, delivered two RIPSAW M3 prototype vehicles to the U.S. Army. These prototypes are for the competitive Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV) Phase I: Platform Prototype program. The RIPSAW M3 vehicles were delivered to Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. They feature a modular open systems architecture design and a common chassis, allowing for various interchangeable payloads from a basic flat-top deck configuration.
