United Airlines Holdings, Inc. (UAL) announced on 2025-10-10 that its summer 2026 schedule will include several new nonstop routes from its Newark hub, including flights to Split, Croatia (launch April 30), Bari, Italy (launch May 1), and Santiago de Compostela, Spain (launch May 22). Additional new services announced today include a daily nonstop from Newark to Reykjavik, Iceland; a daily nonstop from Newark to Seoul, South Korea; a daily nonstop from Newark to Glasgow, Scotland; and a fourth daily flight from Newark to Tel Aviv, Israel, bringing the total to 18 weekly flights between Newark and Tel Aviv.
The new routes will be operated on a mix of aircraft, with the Split, Bari, and Santiago de Compostela services slated for Boeing 767‑300ERs, the Reykjavik and Seoul services for Boeing 787‑9 Dreamliners, and the Glasgow service for a Boeing 737‑MAX 8. All new flights will feature United’s lie‑flat Polaris cabin, reinforcing the carrier’s premium product offering and its “United Next” strategy of attracting high‑spending, brand‑loyal customers.
By adding these destinations, United expands its presence in key European and Asian markets, becoming the only U.S. airline to serve Split, Bari, and Santiago de Compostela directly from Newark and the largest carrier to Israel. The expansion strengthens United’s competitive position at high‑cost airports, increases potential revenue from premium cabins, and supports the company’s long‑term goal of achieving double‑digit margins through network growth and technological differentiation.
