Unilever has named Peter ter Kulve as its preferred candidate to lead the group's soon-to-be listed ice cream division, as announced on June 17, 2025. Ter Kulve currently serves as President of The Magnum Ice Cream Company (TMICC).
He is expected to receive TMICC board approval next month for his appointment as CEO, ahead of a planned Amsterdam listing this year. This appointment provides clarity on the leadership of the demerged entity.
Ter Kulve has previously faced criticism from the board of Ben & Jerry's, which is part of TMICC. This leadership choice is a key step in preparing the ice cream business for its independent future.
