Unilever reported fourth-quarter underlying sales growth of 4% on February 13, 2025, slightly missing the 4.1% forecast. Full-year underlying sales grew 4.2%, just below the 4.3% analyst consensus, driven by 2.9% volume growth.
Underlying operating margins for the full year came in at 18.4%, in line with the 18.3% estimate and company forecasts. For 2025, Unilever expects full-year sales growth within its 3% to 5% multi-year range and a modest improvement in underlying operating margin, realized in the second half.
CEO Hein Schumacher noted a "slower start to 2025" and "more challenging circumstances overall," despite aiming to grow ahead of competition. The company confirmed its ice cream unit, including Ben & Jerry's and Magnum, will be demerged via a triple listing in Amsterdam, London, and New York by the end of 2025, with Amsterdam as the primary listing.
