UL Solutions announced that LG Display’s organic light-emitting diode (OLED) televisions and monitors have achieved UL Solutions Eyesafe Verification. This marks a global first for OLED TVs and monitors, confirming the accuracy of LG Display’s marketing claims regarding reduced circadian-stimulating blue light emissions.
To earn the Marketing Claim Verification, UL Solutions evaluated the performance of LG Display’s OLED products using Eyesafe Display Requirements 3.0. This assessment included Radiance Protection Factor (RPF) and Circadian Protection Factor (CPF) methodologies, with the products earning RPF40 and CPF60 ratings.
This verification provides consumers with confidence in product claims, helping them distinguish between verified facts and unsubstantiated statements in a market where concerns about the health effects of prolonged screen time are increasing. It reinforces UL Solutions' role in validating advertising and promotional statements through objective, science-driven assessment.
