UL Solutions announced the launch of its ECOLOGO certification program for energy and industrial automation equipment, including circuit breakers and safety switches.
The program, based on UL 2711, evaluates products across sustainability criteria such as materials, manufacturing processes, health and safety, and product life cycle.
The certification is a voluntary, multi‑attribute, life‑cycle‑based ecolabel classified as an ISO Type 1 ecolabel and part of the Global Ecolabelling Network’s GENICES system, recognized by governments, retailers, and procurement programs worldwide.
UL Solutions, which operates in more than 110 countries and acquired the ECOLOGO program in 2010, sees the launch as a major operational milestone that expands its sustainability certification portfolio and reinforces its position as a trusted safety and compliance partner.
Executive vice president Gitte Schjøtz highlighted the program’s value in helping manufacturers demonstrate environmental leadership and meet stakeholder demands for greener industrial solutions.
