UL Solutions announced it issued its first certification of an industrial hydrogen generator to Ohmium International, a company specializing in proton exchange membrane electrolyzers. This certification supports energy transition safety.
Ohmium's electrolyzer module and system models (LCC, LWC, LHC, LPC, LTC, UIB) were evaluated according to UL 2264A, the Outline of Investigation for Water Electrolysis Type Hydrogen Generators. UL 2264A is the first document of its kind to establish requirements for evaluating and certifying the safety of hydrogen generators.
This milestone reinforces UL Solutions' commitment to elevating safety in emerging technologies, particularly as hydrogen plays a critical role in the transition to low-carbon transportation and energy systems. The certification helps manufacturers like Ohmium bring innovative and safer new energy technologies to market.
