UMC Signs Landmark 30-Year Offshore Wind Power Agreement and Approves Capacity Investment

United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) has signed a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) with Fengmiao I Offshore Wind Farm, developed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP). This agreement marks UMC’s largest renewable energy transaction to date, involving the purchase of over 30 billion kilowatt-hours of power over at least 30 years.

This long-term agreement is a significant step towards UMC's goal of achieving 50% renewable energy use by 2030 and its roadmap to net-zero emissions and 100% renewable energy by 2050. The deal demonstrates UMC's commitment to sustainable development and contributes to its carbon reduction goals.

Additionally, UMC approved a capital budget execution plan with an investment of NT$18,498 million. This investment is aimed at capacity deployment, underscoring the company’s strategic focus on expanding its operational capabilities and supporting future growth.
