UMC's Supply Chain Initiative Achieves 2.64 Million Tons in Carbon Reduction

United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) announced that its Supply Chain Greenhouse Gas Inventory Initiative has led to a total reduction of 2.64 million tons of emissions from its suppliers' global sites since 2022.

The company recognized 16 suppliers at its Low-Carbon Supply Chain Awards Ceremony for their performance in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. UMC launched this initiative in 2022 to provide resources and support to its suppliers.

UMC aims to achieve a 20% reduction in supply chain emissions by 2030, with over 300 suppliers having completed their greenhouse gas inventory to date. This collaboration underscores UMC's commitment to sustainable development and climate action across its value chain.
