UniFirst Corporation announced the grand opening of its advanced 65,000-square-foot uniform service and processing facility in Liverpool, New York, on October 7, 2024. This new facility replaces a smaller structure on the same site, completing a three-year transition without interrupting service for its more than 2,000 local customers.
The facility is designed with sustainability in mind, processing 220,000 pounds of textiles weekly while utilizing less than 1.5 gallons of water per pound of product. It incorporates an advanced Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) system for wastewater treatment and eco-friendly design features to reduce energy consumption.
This investment highlights UniFirst's commitment to serving the Syracuse market, where it has operated for 70 years, and is poised to expand its capacity to align with future growth. The plant currently employs 91 local residents, with plans to expand its workforce as the business grows.
