Energy Fuels Inc. announced on July 17, 2025, that it has commenced pilot-scale production of Dysprosium (Dy) oxide at its White Mesa Mill in Utah. The company expects to complete its first kilogram of Dy oxide within 30 days, targeting a minimum purity of 99.5% and potentially exceeding 99.9%.
The company plans to continue producing Dy oxide at pilot scale until the end of September 2025, aiming for approximately 15 kg. Following this, it expects to feed residuals into its Terbium (Tb) circuit, targeting the production of one kilogram of Tb on a pilot scale by the end of November 2025.
Assuming successful pilot production, Energy Fuels could achieve commercial-scale production of Dy, Tb, and Samarium (Sm) as early as Q4 2026 from existing feed sources, or Q4 2027 from its permitted Donald Project in Australia. This initiative positions Energy Fuels as the only U.S. company producing separated heavy rare earth oxides from commercial rare earth ores.
